A cosmetic lightweight hinged ankle foot orthosis.Manufactured as a made to measure device to a scan or cast.
Features
- Variable thickness of the AFO to provides controlled flexibility of the footplate and calf whilst giving increased strength around the ankle.
- Low profile and lightweight design
- Choice of tamarack or low-profile pivot joint
- Choice of colour, lining colour and image or hydrographic design available
- Optional Interchangeable heel pitching posts
- Optional integrated calf strap and dorsal wings or integrated loop instep and calf strap
Indications
- Mild to moderate spasticity causing foot drop with some dorsiflexion range due to conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) etc
- Severe over pronation/supination
- Severe ankle instabilities
- Tip toe walking
- Flaccid foot drop when additional coronal plane stability is required
Contraindications
- Severe spasticity
- High risk skin/vascular condition
- Tissue viability
- Swelling/oedema
