Twelve months ago, Opcare launched its Community Orthotic Service across Derbyshire, bringing specialist, patient-centred orthotic care closer to the people and communities who need it most.

As part of the AM Healthcare Group family, we’re incredibly proud of what the team has achieved during their first year supporting patients across Derby, Chesterfield, Buxton, Alfreton and the wider Derbyshire region.

New Supplier Distribution Partnership

We are delighted to announce a partnership agreement between AM Healthcare Group and Ortho Europe’s product and sales division with the internationally renowned Orthoservice AG, taking effect on 1^ST May 2025.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission as a leading manufacturer and distributor of orthotic, prosthetic and seating products. Our commitment is to enhance independence and quality of life by delivering robust, innovative, and effective devices to thousands who rely on mobility support. This new partnership will further strengthen our dedication to provide the best possible solutions for both clinicians and patients.

Orthoservice AG have been designing, manufacturing & selling a comprehensive range of orthoses, insoles and medical compression products since 1978. While they hold an extensive international reputation, Orthoservice AG remains a brand rooted in family values, always keeping the patient at the heart of every decision they make.

This joint partnership will have exclusive representation of Orthoservice AG products in France, Norway, Denmark, Baltics and Eire, while also fostering collaboration within the non-exclusive markets in Benelux, Sweden and Finland. In the UK we will work within an exclusive partnership with OSUK Ltd based in Sunderland.

Starting from 1^ST May 2025, all orders for Orthoservice products will be managed directly through Ortho Europe.

Our Donation to oursupport4ukraine

We recently took a significant step by contributing 99 boxes brimming with prosthetics and orthotics to bolster the admirable efforts of Oursupport4ukraine. This act of generosity aligns with our ongoing commitment to effect positive change in regions grappling with adversity and challenges.

Oursupport4ukraine comprises an extraordinary group of devoted volunteers based in Oxfordshire. Their tirel total of 104 fully-loaded lorries. These vehicles were laden with essential supplies for Ukraine. Making a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals impacted by the ongoing crisis.

This particular shipment is destined for Nikolaiev, a city situated precariously close to the front lines. In this vulnerable setting, the need for specialized medical care is acute. Their work has resulted in the successful dispatch of an impressive exists a specialist clinic where they diligently treat wounded soldiers, many of whom are amputees.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be playing such a meaningful role in supporting this remarkable charity and being able to have such an impact on the valiant individuals on the front lines in Ukraine.

2023 Graduate Intake Onboarding Induction

We are delighted to be supporting the charity Power2Inspire!

We are delighted to be supporting the charity Power2Inspire who has launched a new fundraising event to celebrate their 10th year of providing inclusive sports across the UK.

Founder John Willis, who was born without fully formed arms and legs, will be paddling 108 miles across the river Thames from Cricklade to Eton Dorney. Supported by British Canoeing this amazing challenge will take place between Sunday 23rd July – Sunday 30th July 2023, raising vital funds for the charity. John will be joined by Opcare’s Director of Clinical Services Dominic Hannett, on Monday 24th July, covering the Lechlade to Standlake leg of the journey.

Meet Harry, who we have had the privilege to work with in partnership with Legs 4 Africa

At 32 years of age, Harry found his life profoundly altered. An unyielding battle with diabetes led to a leg amputation, creating a stark shift in his lifestyle and mobility. His vibrant social life and interactions with friends seemed to be dwindling away, constrained by his physical circumstances.

However, the course of Harry’s life took a turn when he received a prosthetic leg. This device was more than just a physical aide, it was an instrument of freedom. With his new prosthetic leg, Harry regained his mobility and reconnected with his social circle. His daily life, which once seemed hampered by his condition, was restored to its previous vibrancy.

When asked about his source of happiness, Harry’s reply is poignant and simple, “the gift of life makes me happy”. This reflects his deep appreciation of life, magnified after overcoming the significant hurdle of amputation.

Harry’s story stands as a beacon of resilience and positivity. It underscores the transformative power of prosthetics, showcasing their potential to bridge the gap between disability and normalcy. As we narrate his journey, we aim to inspire others and highlight the profound, life-altering impact of prosthetic technology.

Martyn will be taking part in the 21k Beast run for Thames Hospice on August 13th 2023.

”Thames Hospice provided care for my Mum in the last days of her life, they offered support to the family and many other families alike.

They offer Hospice care for people aged 16 and over in Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire, offering palliative and end-of-life care.”
